From the moment it arrived, it was a feast for the eyes – beautifully arranged with such a delightful variety of treats. Honestly, every single item on that board was a winner. It was such a fun and delicious way to celebrate Easter. I would highly, highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special brunch experience. State Fair really knocked it out of the park with this one. Fingers crosse, they decide to make this Easter Brunch board a regular menu item. It would be such a treat to enjoy something this wonderful again! ”

“ State Fare's name conjures visions of a deluxe Cracker Barrel, but the reality is an elegant, relaxed, yet still upscale restaurant with refreshing takes on classic foods that weren't greasy at all. There are two other locations in the Houston area. I went in for Houston Restaurant Week and tried the Sweet Green Salad and Cheeseburger. The salad was surprisingly fresh and light, and I loved the mixture of nuts and apples; I wish it had come on a larger plate. The cheeseburger wasn't greasy; the bun was light, and all the flavors worked well. The fries were seasoned and matched the burger perfectly. The restaurant itself feels high-end, but with its mixtures of plush seating, sofa, and natural woods, it still feels inviting and cozy. There is a bar, but it by no means dominates the restaurant. Oddly, the menus are crinkled paper, which doesn't match the food's quality or the restaurant's atmosphere. The restaurant was slow at 1 PM on a weekday, with only a few people in the relatively cavernous main dining hall, so I opted to sit at the bar. Value-wise, it's a costly lunch, especially if you have a cocktail, which was also excellent. Overall, it was just a surprising experience and an enjoyable lunch; I'll be back to try dinner or brunch with family. ”

“ Let me start with my favorites: 1. I LOVE their margaritas 2. They make their Shirley temple with whip cream and it’s AMAZING. Whip cream on a Shirley temple is my new favorite junk food drink. They also have these little to-go necklaces things for your margaritas which I was obsessed with. It turns your margarita into a giant capri sun that you wear around your neck. Food wise I love their tortilla soup and I also really love their wedge salad. I try to stay as healthy as I can and this place definitely has some options if you are trying to be careful about what you eat. If you aren’t trying to be careful, the list is far longer and the options are super delicious. You can’t go wrong. The staff is also super friendly!! I have never had a bad experience here ”

“ We were in Houston for the weekend and visited some friends located near the Woodlands area of town. We all decided to get some lunch at the State Fare. The atmosphere is clean and rich, and our server, Ashley, hit it of the park with great service, and the food was delicious and plentiful - good portions. They were out of Shiner Bock beer, so I ordered a Peroni (pictured). I split my plate of chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Others in our group ordered hamburger, fritoe pie, and a cob salad with grilled chicken. All of the food was good tasting, and we decided to take a walk on the surrounding boardwalk. I hope if you visit, your experience is as good as ours was. ”

“ Came in this evening to celebrate my birthday. I found this place by searching tiktok for some fancy food, and the magarita flight is what ultimately brought me to choose this place. I just skimmed the menu before coming in. Initially coming in I was amazed by the layout and design of the establishment. We first was seated inside, but I asked if we could sit outside and was told yes. So, outside, we went and was served by Miss Payton. 02/26/2025. Golly, we got the empanadas and crabcakes. Those were so good, so flavorful, just YUM! There were three of us, I got the ribeye with roasted potatos, asparagus, and bacon green beans. My husband got the seafood platter, and our friend got the chimichurri flank steak with Brussel Sprouts. Only bummer was no steak sauce, but very flavorful regardless. If I were to choose out of those three veggies to get, it'd be hands down the Brussel Sprouts. Just bursting flavors! Back to the margarita flight. There are four flavors, each one unique from the other. A regular margarita, a lavender flavor, a peach flavor, and I think a lemon flavor. The peach and lavender flavors were the best! My husband and friend got an expresso type drink and an old fashion. I have no idea about the old fashion taste but the expresso one was good! All in all, our waitress (Payton) was phenomenal (she is a huge fan of kitties as I am, which was a great conversation starter), the food was boastful with flavors, and the drinks are top-notch as was the atmosphere outside by the water! Chefs, kiss! Highly recommend and will be back again! Thank you! ”
